In A Camel's Story, King Balthasar follows a star for thousands of miles using his most prized racing camel Xavier as a pack animal. He's searching for the promised Messiah and is determined to find him. Xavier certainly did not share in his master's passion. He was very disturbed and angry about being used as "a common mule". Full of self pity he grumbles, whines, and complains during the entire journey.
